At what point do you eat sprouted peas? Are they suppose to shoot up a steam with a leaf on it, or do you just eat the one long root looking thing?

Thank you for your answers. I finally could not stand it any longer and had a spinach salad. I can not tell you how good it felt to actually chew something solid instead of chewing green juice.
