Oh cool. I know some people in Middletown but they are younger than you (I used to babysit them and I think the oldest is in high school now). Yes, our house in Long Branch is primarily a summer...

I have to ask, where in central NJ? I'm from Edison and we also have a house in Long Branch. Where do you go to college?
-
Oh, please visit Lifethyme natural market on 6th ave between 8th and 9th. I miss that place so much! They have a lovely raw/vegan bakery, fresh juice bar, and organic produce.
I know I said I...

This will be my last time posting here at RFT. I want to thank each and every one of you for your incredible enthusiasm and support over the past month. I just think that 100% raw isn't for me, at...

I also don't think it's fair to lump all (or even most) doctors into one category. Like you said, this was just an example. It doesn't mean that those doctors indulge in meat, butter, and alcohol all...

I get an e-mail every day from chabad.org featuring A Daily Dose of Wisdom from the Rebbe. I received this one a couple of weeks ago and thought it could be very inspirational for some of you,...

I don't understand why people here are so against mammograms and colonoscopies and things of that sort. Especially those who are so willing to do these colon cleanses to themselves. Maybe I'm just...

You might want to try the Sweet Potato Couscous recipe found here.
I've been wanting to try it but haven't gotten around to it yet. But anyway it seems easy enough. I'd love to hear how it comes...

I just think some people do unnecessary fasts and cleanses that may indicate some disordered eating or disordered thinking that they don't want to admit.
Just my 2 cents.

shine, don't you just love the cashew coconut pudding? mmmmm delicious!

Trader Joe's kind of disappoints me too. I prefer Whole Foods. Too bad I don't live anywhere near one. :(

Has anyone eaten at Down to Earth in Red Bank, New Jersey? My sister and her boyfriend and I are going there this Friday for dinner and I was wondering if anyone had any xperiences they'd like to...

Hers was the first raw book I bought and I've made quite a few things from it as well. Some of my favorites are the Cashew Coconut Pudding, Coconut Breakfast Cakes with vanilla syrup, Love-the-Chicks...

I always wonder about that too. Same with colonics and bulimia.
-
I don't know about anyone else, but I'd take a needle in my vein over an enema any day!

I feel like this after I eat, no matter what I eat. :\

April that is wonderful. With raw I have found a lot of my disordered thoughts have gone away as well, however not having as much luck with the IBS symptoms. Just out of curiosity are you 100% raw?
-
I think there is definitely a link between eating disoders and raw foodism. I am not saying that being raw causes eating disorders--that's obviously not how it works. But I think it is interesting to...
-
Well, lately I have been trying to eat fruits alone, so it's no more smoothies for me! Not worth the indigestion and nausea that follows. I mean, even a simple smoothie of banana, blueberry, and...

I am actually waiting right now for blood test results including adrenal function... Will probably have results by Thursday.

We've been buying and eating the seedless watermelons. What does everyone think about those?
-
I am definitely not 100% raw but I don't give myself a number because it kind of changes daily, depending on how I am feeling. Aside from the raw foods I eat, I mostly consider myself an ovo...
-
Thank you, StarFire... you are so sweet! I will definitely keep you all updated as I get all of my results back. So far this week I've had an abdominal ultrasound, EKG, echocardiogram, currently on a...

I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers are with you and your family.
