I use warm water (not hot) and soak them for about 20 minutes. Essentially, it softens them up and makes it easier to blend them smoothly. :) Can't wait to hear about your pumpkin...

I've got the stove covered, and I try to keep my fridge organized. Have all my sprouting stuff in mason jars, etc. If I didn't keep it neat, it would look like a raw bomb exploded. :)

I use a serrated bread knife to shave off the white parts of the pointed top. Then I use a Chinese cleaver that I bought on Amazon for about $12. It's awesome. :)
