I, personally, copy and paste the recipe into an email and send it to myself. Then I just use gmail to search for the email when I want to make it. Every time I make Deb's raw ranch, that's how I look it up.
While software that collects recipes sounds like a great idea, implementing it would be pretty difficult. Web pages are full of junk that does not pertain to the recipe (headers, footers, navigation links, etc, etc). It would be impossible to separate the recipe from the other content.
The other idea is a system that records the URL of the page for your and lets you tag "Raw Mushroom Soup" on it. The first problem is that web pages can disappear or be moved so the stored URL could become broken. The second problem isn't really a problem, but more of a silly observation. Web browsers have bookmarks that do exactly the same thing. So no point in inventing a recipe collection system that boils down to a website bookmarking system.
If you have any ideas, I'd like to hear it. I too have this problem with recipes. I can write the code (that's what I do).
I think what I want is something that I can copy and paste them into. I've got some novel writing software somewhere and maybe I could use that. Each recipe a new chapter. I think the number of chapters is limitless.
I use a pdf printer called bullzipPDFprinter...google it. It works like a printer but prints to a pdf file. Many of the recipes have a print option which eliminates a lot of the links and stuff, then I print and save it to a folder on my computer.
I have a pdf print thingy too. I might try that.
Kompozer might be a good choice.
Just copy the material or information you want from a webpage, paste it into Kompozer, and then save it as a .html file.
