I like mung been sprouts very much, I eat them alone, like the taste. Put them in salads. I also like buckwheat sprouts same way, but they work better in salads.

It depends on the season. In the summer most of my calories come from fruit (I'd say 80% perhaps). But during the winters I eat a lot more nuts and seeds, so perhaps it's 60-70% from fruit and the rest from nuts and seeds.
Sorry I didn't really read the other responses..I just wondered why only 10% from fat? It's definitely easy to catch up with the calories via avocados, coconuts, olives, nuts and so on. You don't have to eat insane amounts of them, but if you add nuts and avo to your salads, for example, you should reach 2000 just fine! I do :)
P.S. The reason I asked why so low on fat... when I used to be high fruit, it'd take me a large volume of food to reach the appropriate amount of calories...and all that did was make me bloated from all that fruit! So i'm definitely a fan of raw fats.
ahh, thanks. I do remember this argument!
as children we used to climb the nut trees in the garden and crack the nuts with our teeth. We would strip the trees over a few weeks. If we had harvested and stored the nuts which would have hardened the shells then at worst we could have used rocks to crack them. I don't buy that eating nuts is in any way difficult unless there are no nut trees. I would think nuts were rather important or else why go to the trouble of working out how to safely harvest cashews. It may still be that 10% s some magical figure but I don't think much of that argument. In any case we don't all live in the tropics so there will be dietary needs that are different according to climate. Fats will be more important where it is colder for example.
Well, 10% is more of a guideline than some magical figure. The idea is that we are meant to live in a warm environment with an abundance of fruit. And I actually agree with that. Also, wild nuts are generally higher in carbs.
The 80/10/10 diet does not in anyway say that fats are bad, just that we don't need lots of it.
I personally have a more relaxed attitude to the fat/carb ratio. I just try to listen to my body rather than taking an intellectual approach to it.
Just because we are meant to is fairly meaningless when very large numbers of us don't. I think we just need to be cool about the whole eating thing and stop over thinking it.
You have to watch your omega 3 to omega 6 ratio and if you have many nuts you will be way too high in 6 and not enough 3.
unless you stick more to omega-3 containing ones e.g. brazil and walnut, i suppose!
