Hello,
I just looking for some online eshop with nature cosmetics, some tooth paste, shampoo .. skin oil....
Thank you for any advice
My favorite toothepaste is by Theives... its made of essential oils. I know that its not sold in stores... you have to find a person who sells it.... maybe you can look it up online. My tartar has decreased since using this toothepaste.
All I use on my skin is extra virgin coconut oil or cold pressed olive oil. In the winter I'll mix in some 100% raw cocoa butter or shea butter. I order all my butters from rosemountainherbs.com
This is all I use on my face too. I never use anything but water or oil on my face... no soaps. To remove makeup, I use either oil... I think coconut oil works better at removing eye makeup. Then just swipe my face with a hot wash cloth. I also keep a tub of aloe vera in my fridge and lather that on my face before bed every night, followed by coconut oil on the eyes and dry spots.
I don't really use much soap, and when I do I use Dr Brommers, also made from organic essential oils, etc. Being raw vegan, I usually don't smell or NEED to wash a lot.... just dry brush to exfoliate, and then rinse off in the shower. Only parts I was are armpits, if needed and feminine parts, if needed.
For hair, I conditioner wash most of the time... just choose an organic conditioner with all natural ingredients. Once a week, or once every two weeks, I do a extra virgin coconut oil mask for my hair.... you can even leave it on over night. Makes hair soft and smell good! Once a week I 'wash' my hair with apple cider vinegar... makes your hair super soft and shiny. Just make sure to rise your hair well with hit water to rinse the smell away... then use coconut oil or conditioner to help with the smell. It usually subsides on its own.
Something else that has improved my skin and dryness is getting a filter for my shower head. It takes out chemical, chlorine from your shower water! Genius! You can buy then at most huge hardware stores... Lowes, or maybe even super target or something like that.
For nail polish and remover, I use piggy paint... look it up. I order it online. Non toxic and doesn't smell. All vegan too, I think.
Deodarant... I mostly just use the Crystal. Its just mineral salts. I don't really stink that much being on this diet, so this tends to be enough. If not, I use an all natural deodarant from a health food store.
That about sums up what I do, product wise. I used to be what I called a prisoner of products and I vowed to slowly get rid of everything. I did it and my skin, hair and nails are better than ever. I'm sure the raw vegan diet is helping too... but this is part of it! After all... your skin is your biggest organ. It eats whatever you put on it. Don't put anything on your skin you can't eat. Thats the best way to think. I'm sure I have more things that I do, but I can't think of any more right now.
Hope this helps you!
Thank you for your reply :)
Wow Raw Angel Mom - what a lovely post!!
I've seen Piggy Paint - maybe I should give it a closer look ~ thanks so much for sharing.
katkarina ~ I order a lot of items through iHerb.com I've been doing business with them for years now and they're a great company to deal with. I order my shampoo & conditioner, hair spray, hair gel, husband's toothpaste and body soap by Nubian Heritage.
Myself, I don't use soap and use this for toothpaste. I put coconut oil on my toothbrush and dip it in the powder.
I make everything I use. I use oil to clean my face. Just use jojoba oil (or olive, grapeseed, hemp, avocado) with essential oils for your skin type (look it up online). Apply the oil and wipe clean with warm face towel. Feels so good, and makes my skin look healthy. Allow for an adjustment period though. If I want a gentle exfoliation, I will blend and powder oats and sunflower seeds, lavender buds and rose petals; add a couple drops each of lavender and geranium or rose if you can. This makes for a nice gentle clean. Also, you can mix your oil mixture into the powder mixture and let sit for a nice facial.
I make my own lotions. There are lots of recipes online if you look them up. I use organic and quality oils to make my lotions and essential oils for various effects, like for dry skin, I use a little neroli and rose, frankincense, carrot seed. If your skin is oily you would use essential oils that help balance sebum.
For my hair, I use yucca root extract, distilled water and essential oils to shampoo. You can also try soapwort instead of yucca. Don't expect it to lather up like shampoo, but do expect a good clean to your scalp and hair. Some people use baking soda to wash and say it works for them. I find it to be a bit drying to my hair though. To rinse, I use a simple apple cider vinegar rinse with 2 tbs. vinegar and 1 cup distilled/purified water and 3 to 5 drops of essential oils (optional). I usually will give my hair a regular conditioning cleanse with aloe vera gel/juice, 1/2 lemon juice, distilled water and essential oils for dry hair like sandalwood, carrot seed, clary sage.
Making your own lip balms is very easy. There are a lot of recipes online if you look them up. Also making your own homemade soap is fun if your into it and you can share with your loved ones. I make vegan and goatmilk, honey soaps to wash my body with and I usually don't even need lotion except in the winter. If you find your skin needs moisture in the winter, you can mix olive oil and grapeseed oil, or use coconut oil and mix in an essential oil blend if you choose to slather on after showering. I find coconut oil drying to my sensitive skin though and I never put it on my face as it makes me breakout on my face. However, I can use it in my body soap at a very low percentage.
To give your eyes some oomph, you can make mascara out of spirulina and black berry juice.
Hope this helps. Peace.
