I have had a young walnut tree growing on my land for a number of years. This year, for the first time, it looks like I am going to have enough nuts to be worth harvesting. What will they be good for aside from cracking open and eating?

I have had a young walnut tree growing on my land for a number of years. This year, for the first time, it looks like I am going to have enough nuts to be worth harvesting. What will they be good for aside from cracking open and eating?
You can pickle them while they are still immature and you can use the husks and leaves to dye fabrics ; no mordant is needed as walnut is a substantive dye. Eating them "wet" is the best although I expect Mr Raw will want you to sprout them ;)
Walnut is one nut that if it is truly raw, i won't get a reaction. I love them. i would love to try some fresh.
You can make wonderful taco. If you want it simple, a bit of lemon juice, cherry tomato and a fresh herbs. If you want them gourmet, then burrito spices, onion/or garlic, tomato, Himalayan salt and something spicy such a hot pepper.
A mock salmon, use red sweet pepper, celery and you ave a great pate.
