I know there are many recipes you can make with the pulp from your juicer, and that it is great for composting, but I'm wondering if there are any other options out there. I just got my juicer yesterday and plan on using it today for the first time. I'll be making carrot/orange/lemon/ginger juice. I was wondering, if I juice them strategically, if I can put the pulp from the orange in a bowl then the carrot in bowl, and then the lemon & ginger in the garbage disposal for its smell (we used to have a lemon tree in the backyard and we would toss a fallen lemon into the disposal every once and a while for the smell). Living in AZ I made sure my landscaping did not include any real plants to cut down on water use so I do not have much use for compost for plants and I do not garden, and at this point I'm not looking to start cooking anything with the pulp. I have always loved pulp in my OJ, would I be able to add the orange pulp back into my juice? Could I make dog treats out of the carrot pulp? I just do not want to put anything to waste and thought this might be a good place to ask! Thanks for any help!
I do have a cousin who gardens and may have use for the pulp, but I rarely see her! I also saw somewhere that chickens might eat the pulp, and my mother, who lives close and I see a couple times a week has a small chicken coop. Just throwing more ideas out there, I so hate to throw food out!
