but my girlfriend and I want to start.
We have heard the hardest part about juicing, is the clean up of the juicer. Apparently though the more expensive you go, the easier they are to clean?
I want something I could actually use regularly without a ridiculous clean up process... I understand it might be expensive. What is the juicer for me?

The juice I am using now, I find pretty easy to clean up. It still takes a minute or so, but nothing as bad as the last juicer I used. I have the Omega 8005 Nutrition Center. I am sure there are many others that will clean up just as well, but that is the one that is working good for me. Just scrub a few parts after juicing and I am done. Good luck finding your juicer man. :)
There are several Breville juicers that are good for beginners, easy to clean up...not too terrible on wasting produce...but the juice has to be used right away.
I have and OmegaVert that I love..a slow/auger juicer...juice keeps great...hardly any waste..but pricy...I also have a champion which makes good juice but to me is a major pain to clean...read the reviews on amazon...I bought my two sons a breville...about $130
Is there any scientific data on how much nutrition is lost with time after juicing? I mean, if you drink the juice 1 day later is the juice like 50% less nutritious? How about 2 or 3 days later?Quote:

You can also try craigslist to get a great juicer for an even better price. You can also look at the goodwill. I got a Breville there for $3. too bad I just bought a brand new one the month before.
My friend has a greenstar and loves it. She is trying to persuade me to get one. My Breville works great. My kids even make juice with it.
Favorite juices in my house:
Carrot/Apple/Celery/Ginger
Spinach/celery/apple/lemon. (Any Green Leafy Veg will do)
Carrot Orange.
Green Grapes/Celery.
I do the citrus on a manual citrus juicer.

I've used a champion, a VRT, a Breville and a Greenstar. I ALWAYS go back to the Greenstar. There are several parts, but clean up is easy -- you just run water through after you are done juicing (before you take it apart). I gave my champion to my daughter-in-law. She loves it. The VRT sits in a canvas bag on the floor -- I hate it. The Breville sits on the counter but is never used (wastes too much produce and the juice doesn't taste that great) ... the Greenstar gets used every day. I make 4-6 quarts of juice every morning. It's the BEST .... for me anyway.
Decide what you want most out of a juicer ... (speed, convenience, juice quality, etc), then Get a juicer that you will USE.
