Rather than spray and kill, why not consider get an organic order of life so the "good" bugs eat the ones that will be destroying your plants? A lot of bugs/insects are beneficial to plants as are certain plants planted together. A little research goes a long way.
Great! Will definitely research. :)

Lady bugs eat the bad bugs. You can buy a pack at the local nursery. Keep them in the fridge and release them at dark time.

Plant butterfly weed and mexican sunflower to bring in beneficial flyers. Marigolds and brassicas to deter certain nemetodes. Turn under your old brassica leaves into the soil. Especially around garlic to deter root knot nematodes Fennel draws beneficials. Mullein and tithonia torch or mexican sunflowers brings in hummingbirds, which themselves draw rodents (squirrels like hummer eggs and babies) which in turn draw coopers hawks, which keep rodents in check. Lots of cool things you can do with planting. Ladderbacks like mullein and they'll eat pests in your trees bark/cambium. Mullein also good for medicine cabinet.
