New to raw..breastfeeding and TTC
Hello there! I am wanting to know ya'lls thoughts if I may. I am currently breastfeeding a 19 month old and we have been TTC for 6 months now. We started learning about raw about 2 months ago and have been about 70-85% raw ever since.
I have been researching like crazy, but I am finding all sorts of things that are just making me more confused! A dear friend of mine advised that a high vitamin C intake can cause miscarraige or infertility. When I plug in what we have eaten over the course of the day at one of those nutrition tracker websites it says our vit c intake is up to 500% or more a day...is this too much? What supplements should we be taking? How many calories should I get per day? Any sample diets or menus of what a day should look like for me?
To give an idea of what we are eating now:
Fruit Smoothie in the AM..usually mangos and bananas or bananas and strawberries.
Snack: a small handful of Almonds
Lunch: Green Smoothie...my DH throws in all sorts of everything...spinach, collards, or romane being the usual base (one or two of the three), tomato, carrot, blueberries, bananas, strawberries, honey....basically anything that he sees he may throw in.
afternoon snack...any fruit or almonds
Dinner: usually a vegetarian meal..usually 50% cooked, 50% raw depending on what it is and how we are feeling in terms of cravings.
We are also trying to transition our 6 children over to the raw food way of eating. Our 3 yr old refuses every single thing put in front of him except water. The 19 month old just nurses more and wants nothing but smoothies green or fruit. The other kids eat what we put in front of them with fairly minimal complaints.
Any books, good blogs, or advise will be HIGHLY appreciated!
Thank you!!
Rebecca
