I'm all excited for this year's growing season so I wanted to see what other people are growing. I'll probably have some pictures up once more stuff pops up.
So my current list includes:
Leaf lettuce
Kale
Chard
Broccoli
Radishes
Arugula
Red, Black, Purple, Gold Raspberries
Goji Berries
Sage
Parsley
Probably a little more than half of what I'll have once the frost date has passed.
So what do you have growing?
Well, I've planted peas, zucchini, yellow squash, tomatoes (roma, cherry, yellow, traditional red), radishes, snap beans, hot peppers, sweet peppers, stevia, lettuce, kale, swiss chard, romaine, green onions, cucumbers, basil, dill, fennel, cilantro, oregano, sage, sunflowers .... and guess what? Tonight they are predicting Frost!!!!! Yikes!!! So, I covered everything and am hoping for the best.

Lots of fun watching everything growing. I have square foot raised bed gardens.

Don't they put hibiscus in red zinger tea?
I'm in withdrawl.... live in SWFL in the winter - 7+ months or so... and had my 3-D barrel garden with LOTS of greens, herbs and tomatoes. Going back up north where it's too early to plant. Last AVERAGE frost day is May 25!! Will just have to wait, I guess. On the other hand my SIL has a huge commercial greenhouse so can get sets for everything so it does go faster!
We just planted about 80% of our garden this past weekend, still a bit more to go..

Mizuna is a lacy leafed mustard green. I think it has a more appealing flavor than the broadleafs.Quote:

What I have is a different variety of Hibiscus. It's a new plant to me, so I looked up celestial seasonings ing list and they say they use chinese and thia varieties. This red leaf hibiscus is also known as African Rose Mallow. Different variety but still edible with similar taste.
I planted nastursium this past winter and it is an amazing plant. Grew HUGE and actually is a bit of a climber.
Do any of you use the leaves or flowers - and how. Obviously I planed it with that intention, but found I didn't like the 'strong' flavor the limited times I tried it.

I'm a first-timer. Virgin gardener in the house! I planned a pretty big project considering I've never done it, but so far so good!
Turned all the soil myself, got some composted horse manure and some VeggieTone and worked it all in...started some stuff indoors in a little greenhouse I bought at a local store, sowed some directly into soil and it's working!
I have 3 kinds of heirloom tomatoes (that I am SO excited about)
zucchini (heirloom, too)
a BUNCH of varieties of lettuce (several heirloom, all my stuff is organic whether HL or not except the lima beans)
cukes
lacinato kale (HL, too!)
parsley
cilantro
basil
onions - several varieties
cabbage
lima beans (not organic - from ONE bean that my son got on a field trip, so of course we're growing it! And I'll probably cook them for him, but I don't know...maybe lima sprouts are good??? Or maybe the greens are edible and tasty???)

I am SO excited about this! It's been so much fun, I can't believe I never did this before!!!
I am forever talking to my plants and giving them love and happy energy, too. I'm like a crazy cat lady, only with plants and not pets!
