Eczema
My DD (now 14.5 months old) has struggled with severe eczema since she was about two months old. It is so bad she wakes up in the middle of the night itching and can't sleep. It cleared up alot when I first went raw, the first clear up she's had in the year and I attributed alot of that success to me stopping coffee. Now she is breaking out again and I am beginning to suspect tomatoes as I have had raw enchiladas two nights in a row (I noticed bad flare ups before after pizza or something else with tomatoes.) She eats some solids but is still primarily breastfed. I tried drinking nettle tea but I don't know that it did much for her. Is there anything else I can do for her? I have done allergy elimination and my diet is restricted enough right now that I hate to do any other kind of food elimination at this point. I'm too exhausted for it. I also use a lotion with calendula and don't bathe alot...etc.
Should I be feeding her more raw foods? She loves them. I guess I just feed her what I feed the boys - turkey burgers and eggs and pasta sometimes - along with veggies and fruit of course. Any foods that you can think of that could be particularly soothing or offensive to her?

I have been successful in getting rid of my eczema after a flare up just over a year ago. In addition to eliminating tomatoes and coffee, I suggest trying to eliminate dairy and wheat. Both of those are often related to eczema related allergies. Also, try using coconut oil to soothe. When mine was it worst, that seemed to be the only thing my skin could tolerate.
I hope y this helps!

Do you know about nightshades? Tomatoes, bell peppers, eggplant, potatoes, and goji berries are all culprits that can have a hugely negative effect on eczema. I've had several clients have me develop meal plans for them removing nightshades.
I hope that is a help!

i used to have eczema on my hands. i think what cleared it up was a combo of cutting out wheat flour and introducing more greens through smoothies. When i was predominatly sad the only thing that controlled the flare ups was olive leaf extract but only temporarily. now though it has completely gone.

My son's eczema went away after cutting out wheat and dairy. He has tested positive to those two items, but we were told to continue giving them to him (which was weird because we were told to quit nuts and eggs once he tested positive). He is about 70% raw and his eczema that he fought for 3.5 years went away totally. No more lotion, no more steroid cream, nothing. This happened about a month ago.
Good luck! It is such a pain. I hated trying to comfort him when he would wake up scratching and crying and not knowing where he was. It was heart breaking. It has been a huge change.

Another culprit may be flame retardant PJs. My adopted daughter came with a severe case of eczema. Meds did not help (internal or external). Once spring came and winter PJs were put away, eczema started clearing up. I thought it was the sunshine. Several weeks later, she found winter PJs, begged to wear them again, and within days the eczema returned.
Also noticed tomatoes cause her to flare up.
Good luck helping your little one get well.
