I admire your persistence even if I just don't get the whole colonics reasoning! I hope these are not painful. I can understand that afterwards you might get some discomfort but I really don't think the process itself should be comparable with child birth unless your labours were so incredibly pain-free as to be a breeze!
Oh, no, my labor was hard and intense due to being induced and I also had no pain killers during labor. That being said the whole belly, abdomen and back cramping that took place during my colonic session was pretty painful. The colonic did not have the "heat" that labor did, but the cramping the colonic brought on was pretty close.
I actually am re-thinking the colonic. I am now constipated. I'm not sure what I am going to do, meaning I don't know if I will follow through with the colonic or not.
Sounds to me as though the process has interrupted your body, unsettled it and then left your body to figure it out by itself. I hope you are feeling better really soon.

Sounds to me that it has softened up some of old the fecal matter in there and partially detached it from adhering to the colon walls, and now it's stuck between the "stuck in there" phase and the "ready to come out" phase and needs an extra push...but everyone needs to make their own interpretation.Quote:

I know lots of people who've gotten colonics and I might have had a few myself, so I'm pretty sure when I say that just getting 1 colonic in kind of like going on a juice fast for a few days then going straight back to SAD food - in the juice fasting scenario, you'd probably get a pretty nasty detox reaction, but instead of sticking with it you quit and that makes things worse. A single colonic will partially hydrate all of the old, dehydrated fecal matter in your colon and slightly loosen it from the walls, but isn't enough to make it easy to pass - it just gets it stuck in your system (sometimes). That sounds like what happened to you, walnutty.
Still, if the colonic was very uncomfortable it might be better for you to go on an enema routine instead for a while, and that should fix the constipation to.
Doing something half-way almost always has repercussions, and it's actually a pretty common occurence for people to get constipated while trying to cleanse their colons; the problem only arises when they stop there ,with a backed-up system.
I don't believe that stuff gets stuck to the inside of the gut and dehydrates. It's the sort of thing that would be interesting if it were investigated at a number of autopsies.
I so agree! I would love to know definitively that colonics help a person. In my honest opinion, I believe God created our bodies to heal themselves if we treat it right. The thing is, I haven't always treated it right and I have a background of IBS. So, I thought it would help. I still don't know what I am going to do come next Friday and the next colonic appointment.Quote:

My constipation has been resolved as I have had 7 bowel movements in the past 24 hours.

Has anyone used Bentonnite Clay for colon therapy? I'm using it to ease my side effects of being a new rawist. I'm day 5 and have had very little side effects.

I used to use Bentonnite clay. It helps collect toxins and takes them out of your system. I haven't found my bag since we moved. We need to finish unpacking so I can start using it again! I never had any problems taking it, but I used to mix it with at least 12 oz of water, and I drink plenty of fluids during the day.
I have decided to get the colonic, if for no other reason than to see if this time is easier.
I did a whole body mask with bentonnite clay mixed with Epsom salt and wow did it help ease the symptoms of detox. Head to feet covered in the clay salt combo made for an amazing toxin remover.
