Or cilantro or parsley or lettuce or collard greens........................even mustard greens! Are you using cucumber too?
From what I read - it is essential (in the US) to get organic kale. Non-organic growers use WAY too many pesticides.
I'm thinking cabbage or brussel sprouts might be good alternatives - they are very closely related to kale.
Without doubt, though, Kale is the Queen of nutritious green vegetables!
Here (in Virginia, USA) organic kale is available even at Wal-Mart.
Ayden
You're lucky to find it @ Walmart Ayden ~ our WM stopped carrying what little organic produce they carried (booo!) -- but, our Costco carries Earthbound Farms organic baby kales! We absolutely love it. It's about $4.30 for a big 1.5# bag. In the grocery store, it's $3.00 for a bunch, which for something like a massaged kale salad won't serve 2 people. I'm so happy that Costco is carrying this!
I found Naturally grown Kale at my farmers market. .59$ a bunch. Its grown right in the back. They say no pesticides you can tell because there are holes in it. I don't mind sharing.
Me too - always has amazed me that so many people seem to be unable to eat things with nibbles out of them; we chew the produce into a mush as soon as it goes in our mouths so I have no idea why it is apparently necessary to be in perfect un-nibbled condition before we do so.
