Thats a good idea and I am going to try that. I like it because it uses the whole food complete in its context. It also releases the contents of the apple seed from its perfect storage in the core of the apple into the smoothie, especially if you make the smoothie in a vitamix. Thats probably the easiest, fastest, and most efficient way to get the benefit of the apple seed's vitamin B17.

I just tried this and its delicious. I put enough cold water in my Vitamix to cover the blades and then added 1 complete apple and turned it on. Then as it was running I added ice thru the top. Thanks Chai, this is a great way to get B17. I'm going to get a complete apple a day from now on. :)
I just did a successful experiment using two small washed apples and a small amount of pure water that wasted nothing. I made a fresh cold apple soup. First I got the vitamix ready to go and got a cutting board out. Then I cut up two small apples tossing the peels, cores, and seeds into the vitamix. As I did this I set the large apple pieces aside on the cutting board. Then I put enough water into the vitamix to just cover the blades and turned it on. Next I chunked the apple pieces into bite sized chunks and put them in a bowl. Then I turned off the vitamix and poured the thick soup/juice into the bowl covering the apple chunks. Last I got out a large soup spoon and had a fresh made RAWlicious apple soup. Cheers. :)
