Is raw almond butter and almond paste the same thing?

I saw almond paste in the supermarket and didn't know if it was the same thing lol ...

No, they are not. I knew almond paste was sweetened. Here's a definition:

A sweet paste made from finely ground blanched almonds mixed with confectioners' (powdered) sugar and enough glucose or syrup to bind it together.

And almond butter you can make your own, using either your Vita-Mix or coffee grinder and raw almonds. Add a tad bit of oil to make it more creamy.
