Raw Meat....ok that sounds gross but I tried it.
Jerry and I went out to lunch at a restaurant I had never been to. I spotted the seared rare tuna and asked about that. And told them I'm all raw.
So they brought it out - 5 tiny slices of tuna
on a huge bed of raw spinach.
The taste of the grill was heavenly to me, but the tuna itself was just not as amazing as I wanted it to be. Unfortunately they drizzled some type of lemon poppyseed sauce over it ( not raw of course )which gave it extra flavor, I didn't take the sauce off - and I didn't plunge it into the puddle of sauce - just left it as it was.
I tried to eat a ceasar salad without the croutons but the cheese was on every single piece of lettuce. I had a little bit - but just didn't enjoy it as much as a raw salad(!!!!)
I felt fine for a while Thought if anything was going to bug me it would be the little bit of sauce on the tuna.
It's been a few hours since the meal and my tummy has pretty sharp pains and I'm bloated and my eyes feel puffy and I'm tired in a different way then I've experienced in a while. I don't feel awful - but I can tell a huge difference from when I don't eat the raw meat.
So even though Carol Alt does - I've decided after this experiment to not do that again. My body doesn't want/like it.
I had been craving a hamburger with bluecheese and bacon for the past 3-4 days so I thought that this might just do the trick...and you know - I still crave that amazing bluecheese bacon hamburger FLAVOR - but I know that my body couldn't handle it.
I watched Jerry eat his cheeseburger and fries and thought - that could be me - but the consequenses of that are so enormous that it's just not worth it.
So we went to a bookstore after that meal and I found a book on all the vegetarian restaurants in LA. We picked it up - so that when I'm out and want to try a salad or something raw at least these places will have more specific options.
At least that is the theory.
Feeling tired of having raw be a bit of a chore when going out to eat - and sometimes at home. I don't want to always eat a salad. Like it to be easy and a non thought. Now it will be that much easier for me to NOT eat raw meat! That is my new non thought.
