I am new to all this raw food living and I really want to learn how to sprout but I don't know what to sprout and where to get the berries to do it? are they kernels or something? Can anyone give me some tips I am excited to get started

Most health food stores carry seeds to sprout. You can buy alfalfa, radish, beans, mung, ect. You can buy them off the net. There are many different ways to sprout here are some links.

I sprout various seeds ... alfalfa, broccoli, mixtures, radish, etc.
I also sprout lentils and mung beans.
I get my seeds/lentils at Wild Oats (health/grocery store). I've also ordered seeds on line from the SproutPeople.com.
I have used wide mouth glass quart mason jars. I put cheesecloth secured with the screwband over the top. Throw in a bit of seed (I only do a couple of Tblspoons to a quarter cup MAX), fill with filtered water and let set overnight. Strain out the water, then put under the tap and let fill until water flushes out for a few seconds. Drain and invert at an angle. I use a dish drainer. Fill with water/drain at least twice a day. You'll get sprouts in a couple of days. Let them grow until the size you want them. The last day put in sunshine to green them up a bit.
To remove the hulls before storing in the fridge, I empty the jar into my salad spinner. Fill with water and swish a bit ... many hulls come off. Drain and spin, and most of the halls are removed. I store the sprouts in plastic containers in the fridge, and usually use them up within a few days.
How should one rinse away the hulls if they don't have a salad spinner? I"ve sprouted before and it is such a pain to get them out. Before, i would put them in a big pan of water and skim off the hulls from the top, but it was so tedious and sometimes messy. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
I won't be much help on removing hulls as I never have! I just eat them as is when the sprouts are long enough. Removing the hulls seems like a lot of extra work for no good reason to me. It's certainly not necessary at all, I don't think.
re: removing hulls. Until I came up with my salad spinner method, I didn't bother to remove them at all. Some of them rinsed out during my final rinse before refrigerating, and I ate the rest. I had read somewhere that removing the hulls was best (can't remember why), so I tried the salad spinner method. I think it is all a matter of taste. I don't mind them either way.
