why eating so much?
after reading some posts, i am shocked that people eat so much...
I can't eat five or six bananas or large fruits in one day.
an apple is enough to last half a day. I weight 160 lbs. maybe it is because of i'm not always hungry??
this is what i drink and eat:
morning, early or late: drink water, two kiwi or one apple
lunch: apple or green smoothes one large cup, leftover goes to my mom :p
supper: small salad of lettuces, parsley and little of green pepper on it. I hate dressing. I always eat plain.
Just wondering. i sometimes skip breakfast because i am not hungry.
Thanks
however, i dont eat much because the fiber in fruit and veg fill me up so easly. I always eat when i am hungry. when i eat cooked food, i only eat one plate of food, but if i am really hungry i eat two plate of foods.
I dont exercise, but i am starting to exercise. i am not runner that is why. I never miss meal if i am hungry.
My mom have MS, so she is trying to eat mostly healthy and raw food.
she eat a lot, she is always hungry because of high me- something.
my dad have low and i am like my dad.
i am in fine health ( that is what doctor said) I dont think so, because i am overweight.

That sounds like a very small amount of food.
Apple - Maybe 120 calories
Green smoothie - 400 calories?
Salad - 100, at most
So that's 620 calories per day MAYBE? That doesn't sound very sustainable.

your body could be like in starvation mode with that amount of food....

If you maintain good health and weight with a lesser amount of food - more power to you! Many folks in transition have a harder time absorbing nutrition (and have larger stomachs) - and so tend to eat more.

Some people can eat a lot, some can't. I am also sometimes surprised to see how much some can eat, I could never have a couple of bananas in one sitting. I would explode ;)
I think if your stomach is used to larger quantities, you should feed it (as long as you're feeling okay that is). I can eat HUGE salads but not huge amount of heavy (in the sense of denser) foods. Half a melon? 5 Oranges? No way. But that's just me, others do that and feel great. I have a friend who can drink 2 quarts without pausing - I would feel terribly ill if I did that.

Is that a typical daily intake you describe? That really is not a lot of energy! If you are not hungry, okay, but are you getting enough nutrients? Just curious. Have you always eaten only small portions? Or has that changed with raw.
Do you exercise? I find that those who exercise (like some of the runners here) eat quite a lot because they need the cals/carbs for their exercises.

Your metabolism is not so fast? My eating volume fluctuates alot. I am not in my growing years nor do I have the opportunity to be extremely active as some on this site are. My body will not release the old food until I put new food in. I don't know if this is because I am in a weight loss time due to being new to raw or if this is what raw will always be like for me.

I am a light eater to. A typical day for me is a few servings of fruit, 16 oz green drink, a salad or two, and one swing food which could be flax crackers, or a raw treat, some nuts....thats it. I had less than 1100 cals yesterday and still had energy to work a 10 hr work day, weight train and do 30 min of step cardio.
