big hug to you and your family
I went through this last year. My father's advanced prostate cancer spread to his vertebrae and pelvis. He also had COPD-chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. (lifetime smoker. still smoked. smoked up until the day he died.) My sister and I scoured the internet for help. In fact, this is one of the things that brought me to RawFoodTalk. I was looking for ammunition for him to fight the cancer. I started buying organic fruits/veggies and delivering them to him. I practically handfed them to him! Unfortunately, he did not want to fight like we wanted him to fight. He had come to terms with death he said. Every day after Viet Nam has been a gift, he said. Had he wanted to fight and believed he COULD fight, I think he would be alive today. I believe in the healing power of raw foods, positive thought, will to live, etc. Look into the Hippocrates Inst. like someone said. I think Brianna works there, if I am correct. Perhaps you could email her privately for info and encouragement. I have read truly inspiring and miraculous stories form there. They also believe in all raw food and wheatgrass as well. Those are some powerful people! As are the people on this board! I wish you all the luck and strength in the world. Your father-in-law is truly lucky to have you supporting him.
ps. My father did say that he felt a lot better- STRONGER- when eating raw fruits, veggies. If nothing else, it gives your body fuel to fight the cancer.
Warmest hugs and thoughts to you and your family,
Jen
