When would it not be a good time to eat as God intended us to eat? :) ;)
Hi Raw Momma,
I have no idea how you are presently eating or what your health is like. If you feel like the detox could be too much, I would "transition" to all raw.
You may not, but some people who go 100% overnight sometimes get real sick (detox), like having the flu. Others don't.
I would increase your raw for a few days and if you still feel pretty good, then increase your raw some more. IMHO.

RawMomma, check out www.thegardendiet.com
Storm and Jingee have been raw fooders for decades. Jinjee has had 4 babies on raw....I'm not sure about first starting out that way what with detox and all, but I think she'd be an excellent person for you to talk to. I've called her before and talked to her and she's great.
Check out her during pregnancy and after photos, they're incredible!
Walkin',
I was going to suggest the same person! :D Jinjee amazes me! Their site was only the 2nd I read about raw foods and really got me interested in pursuing this lifestyle
RawMamma,
I'm 4 months pregnant and also wondering about going raw. I checked out Jingee's site and didn't see anything specific there about changing to raw while pregnant. She was already raw when she became pregnant, I believe. If you talk to her, I'd love to here what she recommends.
I just got Alissa's book and DVDs this week and have already watched them all and read the whole book - love them both! I bought a new food processor and ordered a dehydrator this week. I already have a juicer and saladacco and sprouter (which I rarely use!)
My husband has a lot of health problems- food allergies, leaky gut, feeling lousey, back problems (he had to have an MRI today to see what is going on).
We have tried to detox him many times without success because he always feels so bad. We are determined to get him better though and hopefully before the baby arrives in July. So, we will go slow and as soon as he can take time off from work if he needs to (hopefully in the next few weeks) we will switch him to 100% raw for at least 30 days and see how he does. So, I am going to try to eat as much raw as I can, but I'm going to go at it slowly because I don't want to detox too quickly with the pregnancy and I also have to feel well enough to take care of him - I think it will be rough for him.
Anyway, this is way more than I intended to write. Let's keep in touch and maybe we can encourage each other through this. How far along are you? When are you due? What pregnancy is this for you? What is you diet like now?
Take care,
Tina (newbie)
I'm not pregnant yet, but I'm hoping to conceive soon.
I've bee preparing my health for a pregnancy, by going from 80% raw to 100% raw. I wont do a fast/juice fast, instead I make sure each day I'm getting enough grains, healthy fats, sprouts as well as loads of vegetables and fruits.
This diet compared to a SAD diet will always provide optimum nutrition, it's hard to look at it and see it as potentially harmful when on ever count your consuming more nutrients per bite & they are raw living enzymes ready for your body and your baby to use immediately, without your body struggling to digest nutrient depleted foods.
