Coooookies!

I found a bag of Pepperidge Farm Oatmeal Cranberry cookies in my TV armoir while I was looking for a movie. I forgot I put them there before we went to NY to hide them from my kids. I just discovered these yummy cookies several weeks ago. But I didn't open the bag I found. I'm so proud of myself!

Today I go shopping for week 2. I think I've learned a few things from week one. First of all, I need to avoid recipes that are nut heavy. Both the Mock Salmon Paté, and the Fetuccini Alfredo (which I initially thought was delicious), made me sick. Because I'm fighting cancer, I plan to eat more leafy greens, alfalfa sprouts, and acid fruits. Once I get ahold of a juicer, I'll be drinking green drinks three times a day. So I can really simplify the raw food life for myself right now.

I didn't make all of week 1's recipes, but I did make all but three. I liked the Collard Rolls the most. We didn't try the Pad Thai. I have my son to consider, so I am going to make most of week 2's recipes. I don't want him eating too little.

Yesterday evening I ate salad greens until they were coming out of my ears, but I enjoyed it. I made my own little dressing out of olive oil, apple cider vinegar, and a little of the Aminos. It was tasty. Before bed I had two bananas.

I did "cheat" a little, but no guilt. I had a small square of organic, dairy and gluten free chocolate. I just wanted a taste. It was good, and I was satisfied. I didn't feel an uncontrollable urge to go back and eat the rest of the bar. And now I can tell my mother-in-law, "Thank you! It was good!"

I wish you the very best for your journey!!! Have you considered adding green smoothies in? It's a great way to get lots of greens in without tasting or chewing them. 60% fruit/40% leafy green veggies.

you are doin soooo GREAT!!! I didn't fix the full amount of foods the first week either (I'm assuming you're following the 30 day plan in Alissas book?) it was just sooo much food! I'm so excited to read your posts - and to follow your progress thru your healing... sometime - when you get a moment - check out RawWealth's blog - she is a cancer survivor and an amazing woman. She and I graduated from Alissa's certification classes together! Blessings ...

You are doing so well and it sounds like you are listening to your body - not always easy to "hear" it correctly. Congrats on ignoring "Cookies" call. I will get back to you much more but I am very busy this month. I am still reading all your posts. Is today the day you have your doctor appointment? My prayers are with you. By the way, you will get that "sunporch" you want one day. I know.

I want to do green drinks, but I don't have a juicer yet. My aunt said I can have hers, but I have to go and get it, (about an hour away). So I'm going to try to go and pick it up on Thursday. Then I will be doing a lot of green drinks! From what I gather, it is one of the best things for cancer.
