Chasing Tennis Balls

HAPPY EASTER everyone!

I know it's been awhile since I've posted. I'm still here "doing my thing" and trying my best to stay raw and keep active!

It's been slow-n-steady, but I've managed to lose 12 lbs recently [happy dance]. :) I don't do my next "official" measurements until the end of the month, but I'm hoping for some decent numbers. My clothes are definitely fitting looser than before, so I know progress is being made. :)

Couple of things I've learned about the process and myself:

- I didn't put the weight on overnight so it's not coming off overnight either - Golden Rule, I know...even if I want it ALL NOW!

- Progress is happening in cycles - meaning I work really, really HARD at exercise for a week or two and.......nothing. Then I taper off a bit and a few more days go by, and voile something happens and I release a little bit, and so on.

- My motivation cycles as well - I can go a week straight where I'm like hardcore with eating and exercising on the straight and narrow...and then the pendulum swings and I'm off smelling the roses and daydreaming and all loosey-goosey, and then back again. It's sort of frustrating, but then I have to stop and realize........this is a marathon not a sprint. I'm not a robot and I'm making changes for life! If this includes natural cycles and rhythms that are right for me then so be it...as long as I'm headed in the right direction.

Overall, I'm learning to be free....and sometimes to just "be" - it feels a little bit like I imagine chasing a tennis ball on the beach feels to my beloved pooch. Perfect in the moment!

Cheers!

First of all I have to say what an adorable little poochie!!!!!!

Second... I totally know where you are coming from. I think we all want it now... but if we just "keep at it" we'll get there.

Sounds like you have the right mindset and are doing fantastic. Little bumps in the road are just opportunities to learn more about ourselves, and seriously no big deal. So long as we keep putting one foot in front of the other then these little bumps are just "history" right!!!

Amen to the cycles! :) Some one once told me "Not human doing, it's human being." And your post reminded me of the importance of the moment. I love the pic of your pooch, what fun he's having!!
