Hi everyone!
I'm new here - my name is Tina and I'm a 32 year old mother/homemaker and Yoga Instructor. I have 2 kids and a husband of 9 years. My husband and I began eating a plant based diet in January of this year and in March, learned of the Living Food Diet (RAW). I have been raw on and off for about a month and he has been almost 100% raw for about 2 weeks. He's lost about 20 pounds since giving up meat - 12 of which have been since going raw!
I got to my healthy weight about a year ago after having my daughter, so I'm honestly here for my health - my parents are very unhealthy and my family history is NOT GOOD... I've also had hormone problems in the past and am hoping and praying that this diet will resolve them.
I'm really thankful that we changed our diets when we did becasue my 1 1/2 yr old daughter has been recently diagnosed with severe food allergies - wheat, milk, eggs, soy, peanuts and all tree nuts except pecans and hazelnuts. So, we already know a few options b/c we're on a plant-based diet! (not technically vegan b/c we use honey etc).
Anyway - I will be sharing my 30 day journey w/ whomever wants to join me. I welcome any suggestions (especially recipes or allergy info) and hope to make a new friend or two while I'm here!
So, here's to better health in 30 days! :) PS my Vita-mix is on it's way! yay!
