Oh it's Monday and time for me to take it up a notch after a less than perfect raw weekend. I WAS very high raw, that's the good news; but succumbed to pizza last night when we unexpectedly had guests over and they were hungry and suggested ordering a pizza. I was gonna just have a salad, but I think I waited to long to eat (it was 8pm and I hadn't ate since 1pm, and had spent the afternoon at the park building up an appetite). So I started eating a salad but than added some pizza to my dinner. So I am gonna spend the next few days whipping up some hearty raw goodies so I won't be as tempted when a salad just won't due.
It's been a morning already. Woke up to find our room partially flooded with water, eeks! I wanted to leave the windows open because the weather is so beautiful and to save on electric. Well our sprinkler system was going off this morning.....it flooded a quarter of our bedroom and we were freaking out a bit trying to sop it up because we just laid wood floors in there a few months ago. UGH. but we cleaned it up and are hoping it won't warp too badly (fingers crossed).
Well I soaked some garbanzo/chickpeas all day yesterday, so I am off to attempt to make some raw hummus. Hope it turns out. I am trying out Carol Alts recipe.
what I ate:
raw hummus, with romaine hearts and raw rosemary crackers
(the romaine hearts are great for dipping with)
dinner: beautiful salad of romaine, spinach, cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots/purple cabbage,strawberries, mangos w/a grapefuit--ginger dressing.
snack: dried cherries and blueberries
?Question? are those dried fruits from Whole Foods really raw?
