Day One
I didn't want to get out of bed this morning. It snowed, and it's cold. I'm feeling blue. The phone got me going. A friend of mine in North Carolina is going raw with me - today! I launched into a pity party, and she interrupted me politely to say that she hadn't eaten anything yet, and was sitting outside the grocery store. (It was 8 here in Colorado, and she is two hours ahead of me.) She doesn't have the book, and has no money. Because of medical bills and almost no insurance coverage, I'm not much better off than she, but I'm going to get her the book as soon as I can. She is such a good friend, my big sister, really, that she scraped enough together to get on the Chinese bus from North Carolina to be in New York with me for my first surgery. And she's going raw with me! But on a serious budget. So, she needed to know what she could start with. Her call got me up and running.
I'm sitting here having a smoothie, Dennis' Morning Smoothie, (p. 536). I've never been diagnosed, but I may be hypoglycemic, so I added a handful of ground almonds, (p. 164) It's good, but I should have taken the seeds out of the oranges, they made it a little bitter.I snacked on a couple of dried pineapple rings while I was preparing the smoothie. I love herbal tea first thing in the morning, so I put my smoothie in a big ole' coffee mug, and here I sit. A successful morning.
I have a doctor's appointment this morning. Just a follow-up with my Internist here at home after my trip and surgeries in NY.
