Spending the day with my sweetie

Rate this Entry
My husband and I had a fun day today. We went out to eat and I was in veggie heaven. Yummy food! My husband was in Mac and Cheese heaven I hate that stuff! ICK! He could eat it every day of the week.

Then we went to Sam's Club and loaded up on groceries, lots of fruit and vegetables. Plus I got raspberry, blueberry, Blackberry, strawberry, asparagus, shallot, and garlic plants/bulbs to plant in my yard. I'm so excited. Now I have to wait for the right time to plant them.

Anyway we had a very good day, even though it was dreary outside, rainy and cloudy. This soon will pass and Spring is around the corner.:)

welcome back! it is interesting that often no matter how many times a person drifts away they are drawn back to raw. the benefits are difficult to deny. And this is a fantastic time to start again. Definitely do try to transition back slowly. It seems like it is easy to get started and keep going, but once you are sidetracked it is always difficult to get going again.

Give yourself a month or even longer to get eased back in. Especially if you are not already vegetarian or vegan. Google Supersize Me and watch it for free online. Good cheese addiction, meat addiction...and read up on it. Google food addiction. By the time summer and fresh foods are at their peak you will be right on track to take full advantage. This does not have to be all or nothing. It as to be right for you. 100% is fantastic,

but not if you are not able to get their because it is to frustrating. Just keep adding new and better habits and then after you get one added drop one. You can totally do this. It is one of the more difficult lifestyles to be successful at just because of the social aspects of it, but not impossible. And always be kind to yourself. Congrats on coming back! So fantastic to see you!

Tigger, I plan to take this slow as you advised. I'm a true blue SAD Foodish?! I adore chicken, am so addicted to coffee and milk chocolate. My favorite dessert is pie...all kinds of pies. Sugar...let's not go there. Bad addiction. The white grainy stuff.

So I plan to work on each addiction slowly, finding substitutes that will make these changes easier. It will take time, but each change, plus the addition of lots of fruits and veggies, will help to improve my health. Also I love green smoothies! I typed over the limit, so this was a continuation.

Have you had raw chocolate milk? 1 cup nuts like almond, brazil, mac, hazelnut, mix em up. Add about 4 - 6 cups water. Whizzzzzzzzzzzz whizzzzzzzzzz whizzzzzzzzzzzzzzz Strain. I strain like 4 times cuz, well, I am not found of chunks or bits and pieces at all. Then I rinse the blender and pour the milk bak in. Sweeten with agave and add cocoa to taste. Super good. You can add vanilla to if not a purist. Sometimes I just have it w/agave/vanilla and sometimes I add

a bit of cinn/cloves. Very tasty. And sometimes I just toss in some strawberries and whiz it up with agave and have strawberry milk. Nummy!

Well, you can still have pie.....use almond flour, lightly ground pecans, agave or sweetener (stevia maybe) to taste. This would be the crust. Just use a small tin at first to try it out. Spices if you like. Then cut up some fruit and put sweetener over and let set to get juicy. You can add thickeners like agar agar or irish moss and pour into crust and refrigerate and then eat. I have even seen some really tasty looking coconut cream pies! Pumpkin pie is truly devine. More

in depth though. Can email if you like. So far as chicken goes....sorry, have not found anything for that. Mushrooms that are shredded a bit and marinated in your favorite chickeny seasonings might work. Warm a bit in D or in a baggy set in warm water. The stem of the mushroom is firm and somewhat stringy. That part might work the best, actually. May try that myself!
