Here's a picture of my hula sister Tracee helping me set up! She's such a sweetie! and the building is Mohala Pua Garden Center - a glass building /nursery - very cool place. EXCELLENT LOCATION -- RIGHT off the main road and fabulous parking!!Super easy to find which is always nice!
Menu was very simple and consisted of:
Veggie style pizza (Alissa's sprouted buckwheat crust & Marinara sauce)
SNOWDROPS' PIZZA SUPREME (got 3 book orders for ya snow! ;) when it's ready!)
fettucini alfredo
simple salad with local greens and edible flowers
local grown avocados with sliced oranges (again local oranges) arranged along the sides
BIG POT of Alissas AMAZING CHILI (w/sour creme on the side if they wanted)
onion bread

dh helped me out by finishing up the fudge balls - some are plain, some dipped in organic coconut, and some dipped in dehydrated crunchy buckwheat
and dh also finished the dipped bananas...
he created the raw chocolate concoction (raw chocolate, coconut butter, agave to taste) dipped the apple banana slices in and then dipped them in crunchy buckwheat... yuMMMM!!!(dh was really getting into the creation thing there at the end!)
and dessert was a raw pie...![]()

crust made with macnuts & few almonds thrown in and both black and golden raisins
the filling was young Hawaiian coconut meat, coconut milk blended with maybe 6 or 8 apple bananas (right off the tree!) ... freeze it ... then top with mangos blended up and frozen over that.
suuuuper delicious dessert! quick - easy and oh so good for you!
By the end of creating all of this ... I was in soo much pain I couldn't even roll a fudge ball.. that's when dh stepped in -- what a sweetie!
so the end result is... the first meeting I had 3 people, this meeting - 15!! WOW!....
the owner of the building offered the use of the facility so I could hold classes. I have 6 students at $40 each and they will split the cost of the food being prepared.![]()
wow...
(I am so grateful!) These will be simple 'un~cooking classes... held once a month and separate from the Pot Lucks.
the OTHER thing that came out of last nights speaking and tasting gig -- well...
the owner of the building (who owns the restaurant next door) is shutting down the garden center and wants to reopen it at a later date... but she wasn't sure what direction she wanted to go -- now she's sure.
She wants me to put together a 'business plan' and open a raw food restaurant... (this is where I fainted...)
to start out -- she wants to do a 'catered dinner event' once a month -- it will be advertised, and only 10 reservations (or so) will be accepted. A set menu will be offered. This is just to get the 'word out there' that there is a raw food restaurant coming.... OMG....![]()
oh boy...
so that was the results of last nights speaking engagement. I am really sore for being on my feet in the kitchen for so many hours... but I felt so good emotionally at the end of it all -- and it was sooo worth it ... I gotta tell ya --- (and I know I've said this before....) BUT I LOOOOOVE it when people enjoy my food... omg - there is NO BETTER FEELING IN THE WORLD....!! well - maybe there is - but it is a REALLY GREAT FEELING!!
and Snow.... everyone LOOOOOVED YOUR PIZZA!!! Iof course had to brag on you ;) !!
rawk on rawbies.... have an excellent day!
