Still doing well!
I weighed myself yesterday after my pool therapy and was excited to have the scale read 185! Originally I weighed 124 before I had my stroke a year ago March 16. The going has been very slow for me, but they aren't dumping me out of therapy yet. Guess I'll have another month to achieve all I can do to regain my walking and getting around. My therapist is coming over here to work on stair climbing and some car stuff. I only have two small steps under 5 inches, but I do need to work on using the car and getting in on the driver's side again!
Also think I need to increase my fats and see if that might speed up my weight loss. My hubby is still making my meals and smoothies and I don't think he is adding as much of the good oils that I want! But, I am eating some of those good browines using both walnuts and coconut oil, so I know that I am getting some good oils in my diet anyway. Nonetheless, I am thrilled to be losing weight finally while enjoying my fudge balls!
I am also reading a good book "The 14 day stress cure" that hopefully will help me address my response to stress so I won't have another stroke. AND, when I had my blood tested this week it was pretty good overall! My glucose level was 94, my cholesterol level was 194, my triglycerides were 114, HDL 46 up from 34 and LDL 124 which they say is too low, but it is still up from 46 from last draw and isn't the LDL the bad cholesterol? My HCT finally came up from 35.6 to normal 37.3. The only problem area is with my blood platelet count and it was high again went from 782 to 855. As my oldesrt daughter has problems with her blood platelets too it must be hereditary.
I am still using some natural supplements designed for specific health challenges and hopefully they will keep addressing my high blood pressure and high cholesterol (at least what it has been for the past several years). Not sure what to use to help my platelet count get into the normal range, but I don't want to keep using aspirin, as it doesn't seem to be helping anyway, as those numbers went up again this test. My blood pressure is still higher than I am comfortable with and I just oredered some new supplements that seem to be geared to those for whom the normal remedies don't work.
But, I am so pleased to have lost a bit more weight! My sleep apnea seems to be a thing of the past, too!
