I am new to raw food and this for me is day 2. (i guess) I am about 75% raw now and hope to go to 100% in a day or so. My DH is a meat and potatoes SAD guy and I now am just making 2 dinners, basically, his dinner and I have a really BIG salad. Last week I was eating a big salad and just the chicken or lean protein from the dinner. I had made a big heavy bowl of fettucini alfredo for my DH (its his favorite) last monday. i was so ill that night and the next 2 days. I was over at my friends house (who are going 100% raw and have been for about 1 month) the following wednesday after a pitiful run where I felt like I was getting punched in my pancreas. They gave me some rejuvelac and made me a salad for lunch. I felt amazingly better after about an hour! I decided to research the rejuvelac and make some. I have been drinking that as of yesterday and today. I will continue that everyday.

I felt so bad from that dinner that I decided to change my diet. I have been feeling "fuzzy" and tired for a long time and I assumed it was fatigue and stress. I will be tracking these sort of feelings through my blog. I will also be testing my fitness as I train for another Ironman triathlon in July.

I eat breakfast and lunch on my own, so that isn't a problem. But last night I ate my huge awsome salad and then ate the other half of the chicken wrap I made for him! UGH!

I made my first green smoothies yesterday and this morning. I like them a lot! I find that a handful of herbs really brightens the flavors.

Well, thanks for reading, any tips would be appreciated.

Congrats on your new steps in life!! I am glad to see another athlete in the community. I am not really an 'athlete' per say but I am athletic and very much into physical activities and fitness. (I'm personal trainer.) As far as tips go, I would say tonight when you make your honey food, and you eat your big salad.

Try waiting 20 minutes or so after you eat your food before you eat any of the SAD food. Wait to see if you are full or still hungry. If you are still hungry maybe try making a green smoothie. 20 minutes after that if you are still hungry then eat your husbands food. But you probably won't be. Don't eliminate and look at it as restricting or you will fail, but add raw foods and try to slowly lessen the cravings for the other food.
