Happy New Year everyone! It’s going to be another fantastic year!

So I’m sitting here going over some logos and intro’s and stuff for Alissalive! Because I’m heading in to Boston tomorrow to check out the editing process that’s happening with my shows.

They wanted me to come in the following week, but I need to make sure this is heading in the right direction after seeing some stuff happening already. So, here we go, next phase.

But, can I just vent for a moment…
Dennis makes us juice this morning and then he goes in and turns on the TV and catches about 10-15 minutes of the news. I’m in my office that has a window to the sunroom where the TV is. So I hear a re-cap of Hilary Clinton and the press. One guy stands up to ask her a question and says “Hilary, we see a caring side to you with what you’re doing, (something like that, don’t quote me, I’m so blindsided buy the next idiotic statement that I can’t remember the first line, but here’s the clincher… ) But, we also see, and I also feel, and I just can’t shake this… a cold and calculating side to you”

Hello!!!!!!

Cold and calculating??? She aint sittin home baking cookies and darning clothes, buddy!!!!!!!

Ok, I’m through.

(Btw/ This has nothing to do with voting for Hillary, I just think this guy is watching a little too many Leave it to Beaver reruns)

So after that I’m fired up. Which leads me into my next rant. You gotta love Dennis. I’m going into an office of all men tomorrow. (Which is fine, I loooove men, but these particular men keep trying to tell me what to do! ) (I also totally get that I created hearing that this morning, by the way …) They are very nice, but they have different ideas about what and how this should look. So I called last night and told them I’m coming in to talk to the editor and tell him exactly how I want it and to brainstorm with them. They wanted me to ‘trust’ them and let them do a lot of it and then come in and see if they are on the right track.

Ya, right. Have they met me?

So, I see a logo that I very much dislike that was sent to me yesterday. And of course I freaked. So Dennis being Dennis and knowing me, started ranting about how he can’t believe I haven’t gone in already because at the beginning I told them I was going to be there through the whole edit and went on and on about how I was going to be there every step of the way…. So I break down, saying “I don’t know exactly how I want it though, I don’t know what I want the logo to look like, etc.. and they are going to think I’m a bitch if I’m in there every day, etc… So he looks me square in the eye and says “honey, stop the bullshit (HA! This is why I love Dennis!) You are the one who designed your sites, you’re the one who wrote the book, you’re the one who created the teacher program, you’ve done all your logos and you’ve done all your PR and got yourself on TV, and you’ve created a whole show by yourself. You’ve bought real estate and you’ve created other business, all of this without knowing how to do any of it at the beginning but by teaching yourself! So, what are you talking about? You’re the one who has created this business and you’ve never listened to anyone, not even me, tell you how to do it. You’ve always had everyone telling you to do it differently and you’ve always done it yourself, taken chances and its always worked. Who cares what they think, it’s your money, it’s your show and it’s your name. So grow a set of balls and go in there and don’t take any crap from them” he then kissed me and hugged me and told me to turn off the computer and come to bed, that I was burnt out and just needed some sleep.

Oh my god, I’m sorry, but can I just tell you that I think I’ve not only met my soul mate but my match. I love Dennis so much and we are so connected that he knows me so well. I love that he doesn’t let me linger in my B.S for too long. I started laughing when he told me to grow a set of balls. I know it sounds a bit crude but it was said in such a loving way, lol!

I’m usually pretty focused but I’ve been so mentally burnt out for a few weeks now. I love that I have people around me that remind me of who I am when I need it.

When it feels like I’m fighting for my way or I’m swimming an uphill battle, I have 4 very close friends that I can call anytime and just say, “remind me who I am”. They always do and then I’m totally recharged.

So this is in gratitude for Dennis and my clan, who circle the wagons (thanks’ Elaine for that visual, I’ll never forget it) and who ‘get me’. And thanks to all of you who send your loving emails and energy to me every day here. You recharge my spirit and keep my light shining.
