Day 20 - raw with hubby

Rate this Entry
Well- this past week has been very interesting, to say the least. I have been feeling very irritable, and my period pain lasted for two days! THe raspberry tea helped, and I found my self eating a lot of nori rolls and fruits... HUbby and I have been soo busy that we barely see each other, except on our laptops at the kitchen table! This past weekend we decided to go on a "date" and went to see "wild Hogs" it was a perfect evening. He really enjoys eating the raw food I have been preparing. Last nite as I was getting ready for bed, he was looking at the back of Alissa's book and reading the testimonials. When I came to the bed, he said, "so how are we doing?" and me being confused a bit, said "about what?" ANd he said, " the raw diet." I said, well, I am doing okay, I could be better about drinking more water.... and blabbed on a bit about my weak areas. Did you know that hubby assumed and was totally going raw based on my efforts alone? I was cooking food for him and he was NOT eating it and making me mad, while I was happily eating raw and buying more fruits and veggies and he always wanted to taste and eat what I was having! My mouth dropped open. Did I even ask Hubby if he wanted to go raw - no -- i just told him what I was doing and somewhere in march after the first portabella mushroom he decided to go raw too!

WOW - i am writing this as I remember last nite, and tears are welling up in my eyes. No matter what lonely feelings I have when I am venturing out into new territory, I always have a support, whether its fotki friends (you know who you are) or hubby, or even the raw friends I have )

My skin is unbelievably soft, my undereye circles are starting to disappear, and my nails are growing like crazy -- new updates on my journey. For some reason, my eyelashes are thinning out quite a bit, so I will try to put some castor oil on them to keep them moisturized. We have limited ourselves to one warm drink or warm meal per day and the rest raw, and then I make a large cooked dish on Sunday for college friends to get rid of our cooked stash. So far, so good!

I am steady at 177lbs, and have started doing my pilates and yoga daily.

My exercise assessment for next two weeks - surpass March 15 results
push-up test: 27 (as many pushups as you can eek out - i did the knee bent version)
chair-stand test: 25 (as many seated to standing squats that you can do in 30 secs)

My goals this week are to get 60oz of water per day - i am really feeling more constipated lately since my period has ended.

Thanks for keepin a sis upbeat.
