Detoxing?? Getting a little discouraged

Rate this Entry
Well my throat is raw right now (no pun intended haha), I don't feel sick except for having one of the nastiest sore throats ever. It's almost as if I have strept throat. I have sores and blisters coming from the back of my throat to the roof of my mouth. Is this detox? I've barely been able to eat today. I can't imagine eating healthy would do this to me, I know the theory behind it that my body is getting rid of the nasty stuff in my body but this seems a little extreme. I actually had some hot tea today just to numb it a little. I know not very raw of me but I needed some relief. I hope it goes away soon. We had a serious upturn in the weather here, we went from 90 degree days to 60 degrees in the span of one day, so I wonder if that may have something to do with it. My throat had been sore previously but it wasn't so bad and it went away but now it's back with a vengeance and when I eat things like strawberries or goji berries, things high in vitamin C it seems to make it worse. It seems weird since vitamin C is good for your immune system even though vitamin C is basically ascorbic acid which would make it seem like it would make my throat burn worse. I don't know I'm just confused I guess trying to make sense of this right now.

On a positive note I had major energy yesterday. I went to the park and there were kids there running around chasing each other and I thought man I wanna join them and run and chase them, which is not very normal of me. If I wouldn't have felt like a fool I may have joined them.

The "uncooking" thing though is getting on my last nerve. My latest concoction which was called scrumptious samosas in the cookbook, ended up in the trash. The recipe actually said as a side note to make extra cause they are so good. What a joke! I followed the recipe to the letter and when I got home tonight I couldn't wait to have one. I actually spitted it out when I tasted it, it was that awful. I'm not really a picky person either. It's just discouraging cause I stayed up late making these, they were alot of work and I managed to waste 6 cups of cashews and 2 cups of macadamia nuts, which you all know are NOT cheap by any means. It was just a major disappointment. I have a few new recipes I'm going to try thanks to Beppa. I just need to make yet another trip to Whole Foods *sigh*. The coconut fudge bars I made were very good though. I got that recipe from GoneRaw.com, if I make one more bad thing from this book I have it's going in the trash too and I'm going to get Allissa's book.

Sorry to hear the samosas were a bomb. I won't try them. Seriously though, make tiny batches of stuff until you know if you like them. Sanity saver tip #117. Sorry about your sore throat...I was just doing some research about grapefruit seed extract...supposed to be really good at kocking viruses out with a 1-2 punch. Tastes like @%#$ apparently though.
X : = Hey, I like that one LOL! We could use him for bad recipe as well!

Oil pulling with coconut oil can also help pull the toxins out of your throat faster and coconut oil is also very healing! Feel better soon sweetie!
