Day 16 Health Issues (not raw related)

Rate this Entry
Things are not going well for me healthwise. It is not related to the raw food diet. And these are chronic issues that lead me to turn to the raw food diet for relief. A while back, I had to get my colon removed due to severe ulcerative colitis. Since then things had been good for a long time. However, for the last two years, I keep battling these intestinal infections. They cause internal bleeding and they are incredibly draining and very painful. In the past the course has been antibiotics and I have to go back on them today. The antibiotics make me feel so awful that I am not sure if it is worse to have the infection or go through the treatment. My first instinct is to have some soft white bread to comfort myself. The usual fiber in the raw food diet is very irritating and soft things like white bread are actually rather soothing. I have made it this far and I don't want to crap out now. It sure is tempting, though. I was reading part of Alissa's book last night where she talks about staying the raw course, so that you don't have to go through detox, raw adjustment, etc. all over again. I keep trying to remind myself that as I am so very tempted to turn to comfort food. I really want to stay the course. I am just so worn out, in pain, exhausted, tired, worried (and every variation of these words). I figure I can eat lots of bananas and avocados and avoid the high fiber raw foods I have been eating. At this point, I want cooked food more for comfort from all that ails me. Send me your good luck thoughts......

I hope you are able to stay raw!!! Can you make green smoothies? Seems like that would be easy to digest?

Raw twin, you can do it, it will get better! Make sure you take a probiotic if you decide to go the antibiotic route...i'm sure you know this. my first thought is, what if your body, now raw, is trying to rebuild itself. i think all these enzymes, vitamins and minerals i am now consuming are making love to my cells and MAN are they having a good time!! it's a great visualization!!
