Georgina's Raw Journey

First Fews Days of raw.

Rate this Entry
I started on the 1st October. I hadn't really planned to but i stopped off at the shop on the way to work to buy fruits and veg and raided the fruit bowl at home. No nuts and dried fruits that are raw in my stock cupboard at the moment but I have found a source nearby so I'm going to have a look later in the week.

The scales say 195lbs and the fat reading came in at 49% OUCH!

So far (day three, lunchtime) I've not been tempted by anything non-raw. I'm surprised. The hardest thing has been not absentmindedly snacking on bread and cheese - I've moved non-raw off the work surface and have a space in the fridge just for my foods now.

The sprouter is going great guns. Chickpeas, lentils and mung beans at the moment until I get down to the wholefoods shop.

I need a juicer. I can't afford one just now. I would like to get a dehydrator ... if only to experiment ... I can't afford that either!!! I wonder if a local group could share one or would that cause more friction than it was worth ... ???

I weighed again this morning and the weight loss is extreme. I appear to have lost 18lbs - my scales are accurate though - I must have been carrying a lot of water - one of my work colleagues said I looked less puffy in the face so that's good. I've noticed my skin is clearer which I am surprised at. I thought it might break out in horrible detox spots!

My head is achy but managing to stay off the painkillers. I think it might be stress at work rather than the RAW food - or at least a combination.

I need to take a compost container into work. I'm filling their bin with banana and avo skins!

I wonder if I can sneak a sprouter in - it would save carrying sprouts in my bag everyday!

From now on I plan to make blog entries daily if I can.

Congrats on your weightloss 18lbs is great. If I were you I'd get the dehydrator first since you are coming from SAD this will help tremdously with cravings. Having a Juicer if nice though.

WOW! That's a great weightloss so far! WOW! You are doing so great!
Agree with DOC about the dehydrator. What part of the country are you in?
    I'm in FL.

    Hi,

I'm in England and I have located a supplier of dehydrators but so far I have no craving for any of the recipes listed that use a dehydrator. I'd use one for preserving a glut of apple and wild fruits I think -- maybe make fruit leathers.

I think it's a lot of weight to lose but I'm not complaining. I ate three avos today to make sure I was getting enough fats!!! I also ate all the usual fruits and greens and sprouts.
