...post today. I"m dashing off to a "Par taay". Hopefully, I will see my yum-yum honey there. It wasn't planned but we tend to run in the same circles, I've discovered.

I bought two new cookbooks: Raw Food,Real World by Matthew Kenny and Sarma Melngailis. The other one is upstairs and I"m too much in a hurry to go get it. It's just called Raw Food. That one, I'm not to sure about. I might take it back. The Raw Food,Real World one I really like because it has some very interesting soup combinations in there. And me being a New Englander, I'm gonna needs something to replace my "chowdah". In the book, it says that soup is still considered raw if you warm it slightly? Has anyone heard of this? I'm looking forward to trying different veggies. Another reason the soups looked so good.

I have come to discover that I'm not a nut girl. For some reason, the nuts are way to heavy for me. I had some yesterday and I was feeling almost painfully bloated. The same happened when I made the fettucini which is a macadamian base. I was like sick afterwards. Oh well. So glad there are so many other raw things to enjoy. And I'm making note to self, "enjoy nuts in small quantities."

I think the next uncook book that I want is the Ani Phyo book.

Keep it rawkin,Rawbies!

yep - I just had a rather unpleasant experience with nuts - and it's put me off of them for a few days too!!! I soaked some almonds, mixed in a bit of coconut oil to lightly coat them, sprinkled some nutritional yeast over it and mixed it all up - I love this recipe - reminds me of cheesy pufs. only... I left these out for two days thinking they're nuts (not remembering I sprouted them)... just popped a bunch in my mouth - and they were spoiled... aaack... no nuts for a while...

yes, I've had 2 seriously bad experiences with nuts! So, I know now I need to use them sparingly. I ran into a woman at the "par tay" who is also raw and she was telling me that for some people nuts are just too hard on the digestive system. I found that to be true for me. So...the rule is a little sprinkle will do me!
