The beginning

I am not sure if anyone will ever read this, but I need to be honest with myself first of all. So, here goes!

About a month ago, I felt very nauseous and threw up. I thought it was just the beginning of a stomach bug and thought nothing of it. After a week of nausea, vomiting and loose stools I went to urgent care. They did a pregnancy test (negative) and a whole panel of blood work. Everything came back normal. They sent me to see a gastroenterologist. She ordered stool samples (all negative) bloodwork (all negative) and an endoscopy with a biopsy. Everything came back perfectly normal. They were looking for evidence of celiac disease because my grandfather and aunt had it. Nothing. In the meantime, I am still throwing up sporadically. I go to Barnes and Noble and the Internet and start looking at health, nutrition and diet books.

I first came across Carol Alt's book and bought it. Two days later I found this web site. Willing to try anything to stop the sickness I decided to make some changes. I have stopped drinking coffee (WOW it still sounds weird to say that. I am the person who knows where every single Starbucks and coffeehouse is in a 50 mile radius). No more fried foods, no more sugary treats. I grew some alfalfa sprouts. I pulled out my juicer my mom gave me when I was pregnant. Every time I am at Wild Oats I buy an ounce of wheatgrass. I bid on and won the bid on a wheatgrass juicer. I have made salads with all kinds of delicious raw fruits and veggies in them. I am however only maybe 20% raw.

I had an ultrasound this morning of my liver, gallbladder, spleen, kidneys, pancreas...the preliminary results are all normal... I am still throwing up...two days in a row, skip a day, vomit the next, skip 2 days. I am finding no pattern, no comonalities.

My primary care physician thinks it could be my thyroid, someone else says get tested for allergies, how about H-pylori? It does seem the days I am eating more raw foods are better than the days I eat more SAD.

Is my body just sick and tired of the junk I am putting in it. Is there nothing wrong other than being toxic? We shall see as I continue moving forward.

After I vomit, I always crave Sprite...(childhood I guess) I need to find something else to soothe my stomach...more ginger in my juice maybe...
