PH Balance
Hi there,
I'm new to the raw blog, I've been raw vegan for about a month- 90% I'd say give or take a few meals.
Here's something that I found helpful, thought I'd share:
Instead of thinking about whether my food is raw or not, I look at my body's health from a PH balance standpoint. In order to achieve this balance I need to eat about 75% alkaline foods and only about 25% acidic foods. It's important to eat both. (You can google to pull up a list of alkaline and acidic foods if you're interested.)
Alkaline and acidic foods reference what affect they have in your body, not so much what we might think of them prior to eating.
Example: oranges and lemons are alkaline in the body- lemon especially.
Acidic foods are mostly cooked, processed and animal products- which is what I don't eat, of course some acidic foods are certain nuts and fruits etc.

When I eat like this, with the mindset to create balance in my body I find that I'm not confused about what to eat. I eat from my body's needs, not my own old food patterns.
Anyway, thought I'd share. It's really helped me to think and eat this way, maybe it will help someone else:O) :O)
