Day 8 Raw Food Superiority

Rate this Entry
Before I say this, I want to go on record saying that people often comment about how kind and non-judgmental I am...

Since I have been considering going raw, I have been reading as many books as I can get my hands on to better understand the philosophy behind the diet and what constitutes raw, etc. So, I have come to have a real respect for how great I think the raw food diet is for your health.

Well, last night, I had to stop at the mall to get some makeup. I saw this advertisement for some new face cream that has antioxidants in it, because, "the antioxidants you get in food is not enough". Mind you, this was a pretty pricey face cream and people were lining up to try a sample. The first thing that came to my mind was, "These people would not have to spend their money on this stuff if they just ate raw!". It doesn't sound that bad written out, but I thought this in a very snarky, superior way - like, "Geez, get with the program already!".

I have been a vegan for a very long time and never felt superior to others like this. It must be that the raw food diet just seems to make so much sense to me that I don't know why everyone with ill-health or any issues doesn't get with the program. Now mind you, I have only been 100% for 8 days. But, I keep seeing how much we are spending on medical care in the U.S. and I keep thinking, "Would the bill be so high if everyone went raw?".

It was a very new response for me to have and I didn't know if any of you are finding yourselves thinking the same thing. I am hoping that I was just a little detoxy and tired last night and I will never become that snarky - but it was funny to see myself thinking like that.
