I was having a really rough day today. Not that this should be an excuse to eat cooked, but old habits really do die hard, and the one meal I had for lunch has me bloated and gassy the entire day.
Body said, you wont be able to eat anything else and really enjoy it. And she was right. I've tried eating a few simple raw things, but not helpful, just complicating things. Also my period is approaching, so there is usually a wave of cravings that come over me. Perhaps that is part of it, as I always eat cooked and warmed drinks and foods around that time of the month.
I am in protective mode right now. I really need to attack the rawness 100% and not indulge the cooked thoughts anymore. Came home today to several bags of junk food (chips, cookied, fudge-covered crap, and animal cookies) bought by my lovely husband. I was so utterly angry! Did he not know what he was doing? And he even tried to qualify it by saying he bought me some stuff too! Helllllllloooooo!! who has been complaining about their weight since Christmas, and working out every other day, and bought so much raw and vegetarian stuff so that she (and WE) could be healthier for your 10 year college reunion in June??
I stuffed everything back in the shopping bag and told him he had to take this to his office or leave it in his car, cause I dont want to see it in the house. A sister had to put her raw foot down - I mean even if I wasnt raw, I dont want 4 family size bags of potato chips sitting in the cabinet.. and digging thru to find my nuts and seeds-- noo way!
Well, I didnt let him know I was angry, but I did say this is not supporting my journey to lose weight and be healthy, and he should know better.
So he agreed to take the junk with him to work. For now, I have stored it in his home office.
so, today I had a late start and a stumble, but I am in this for the long haul:
banana chips (handful)
homemade trail mix (handful)
date nut torte (about 2 oz)
marinated tofu with noodles
green salad, with cukes, cherry tomato, carrots, jalapeno, olives, green pepper, and dressing of nutritional yeast, ACV, and a little olive oil
(was bloated the whole afternoon, so I drank about 2000ml of water)
strawberry papaya smoothie, with ground flax
kiwi
Sushi roll ( with 'almost tuna' and spinach)
My alfalfa/clover/broccoli is almost ready!! I have it in a huge clear mixing bowl, and several of the leaves are greening. I think it will be ready to dry and store tomorrow.
Pilates tape tonite - 45min of exercise.
Im praying for more strength to stand firm and be steadfast with my decision. No more pacifying others.... I need to be the best me that I know how!
