Day 7 Zepter VacSy Products?
I was reading Carol Alt's raw food cookbook and she talks about Zepter VacSy brand containers that vacuum seal your food. I guess this would be similar to the vacuum seal bags that a lot of folks seem to use, however, the VacSy stuff is actually a container. The products are kind of pricey, but I am thinking they might be very convenient for me. I am meeting with a sales rep on Friday to see some of the products and maybe make a purchase. The project that I am on right now is in another city. I have a three hour commute everyday. Tag that on to an 8--10 hour day and I don't have much time left at night for food prep, etc. So, I make all my raw dishes on the weekend and pack everything up for the entire work week. I pack my breakfast, lunch, snacks and even dinner options so I can just grab and go. I figure that this is not the ideal way to eat raw since cut up food is supposed to become oxidized so much quicker. This is where the Zepter products come into play. I feel like the containers would suit my needs better than a vacuum seal bag. I really won't know until I see this stuff on Friday. I will pass on my impressions.
I think today, I have finally hit the classic detox stage. My body just aches and I had a really hard time getting out of bed this morning. My face looks really old and ragged too. One of my friends told me that she went through detox for a couple of weeks. Wow, that is going to be rough! My birthday is this weekend and I was hoping to have fun and celebrate. Right now all I want to do is stay in bed and pull up the covers over my head. I was reading Alissa's book last night for inspiration and she says to just stick with it and soon you will have even more energy than you could imagine. I think I need to keep reading this every night to get me through this period of incredible tiredness and weakness.
So, here are the stats for yesterday:
Morning
3 hummus chips
1/2 flax oil
1 tsp raw apple cider vinegar
2 cups lentil sprouts
Green smoothie with celery, kiwi, and arugala
Afternoon
1 tsp psyllium husk powder
Zucchini pasta with spaghetti sauce
2 cups broccoli
1 Brazil nut
3 carrots
1 banana
1/4 avocado
2 cups strawberries and grapefruit
10 figs (I made the mistake of picking up some figs on the way home. During my 1.5 hour commute home, I decided to open up the container and have just one fig. Well, I finished an entire container during my drive without even thinking about it!)
Evening
2 cups bell pepper chutney
1/4 avocado
7 of Alissa's Lime Pepper crackers
4 hummus chips
1 huge spoon honey
Honey tea
