100%... its time
I've made the decision- well, as of this morning, I'm going 100% raw. Hera is eating more and more solids. I'm fine with the amount of milk that I produce. I'm not worried about the effects of detox on my milk. The objections are pretty much gone.
I bought a FANTASTIC uncook book (much better than Alissa's IMO) called Ani Phyo's Raw Food Kitchen. I saw some of her You Tube videos and I LOVED her. Everything I've made out of the book so far has been amazing. Last Tuesday, for example, I made "burritos" with Baja Cheese, Taco Nut Meat, and Corn and Red Pepper salsa on red cabbage leaves. Oh. My. Gosh! It was incredible! My girlfriend loved it and she's not even raw. I've had great success with Ani's stuff.
I have to admit that one of the main reasons I'm going 100% is because I want a Vita Mix. I promised the Chief that I would totally commit to raw and if I was really sticking to the diet, by November, we could get a Vita Mix. I really want one and feel that it would make a big difference in my ability to make good food. It sounds silly, but I know it in my gut.
A good friend of mine found a dehydrator for me. She's bringing it over tonight. There's no temperature control, unfortunately, but the hottest it gets is 133 degrees. Well, the FOOD doesn't get that hot. I'm not so obsessed with it that I won't eat something if it hits 119 degrees. Anyway, I'm thrilled and I can't wait!
Its all coming together.
