It was interesting that yesterdays' rant about perfection seemed to solidify my decision to go raw, and also to improve other areas of my life (thanks Elizabeth and Snownoir!!) Hubby has very impressed with the stuffed portabella, and kept asking how did I get it to taste soo fresh? he is also interested in seeing how the sprouts I started (alfalfa, clover, broccoli) are doing. They have little 1/2 in white tails now.
This morning I made him a banana papaya smoothie with a little carrot juice and agave nectar. he greatly enjoyed that, so much so that he actually washed his cup, AND put it in the sink (now for those married folks that cant get their mates to wash dishes this is HUGE!). I can barely get him to put dishes INSIDE the sink, so I was very impressed.
Off to work he went, so I had a chance to tidy up. I encouraged him to wash what he uses, because we are so busy that the dishes pile up, and especially since I am making living food, I need the counters and dishes to be clean, or at least in the sink or dishwasher.. (yes I have a dishwasher and still cant get him to put soiled dishes in it ...) he agreed and we kissed to seal the contract - heehee~
Well I went to work/school - the smoothie i had was at 10am, so for some reason, I wasnt really hungry until after class and my workout which was about 5pm. I did have an apple somewhere in there, and a thumbsize peiece of date nut torte (hubby likes the torte, but not the date frosting -- he would rather have peanut butter on top...?)
After my workout I had a grapefruit, then about thirty minutes later a salad of marinated veggies (in braggs),tomatoes, olives, torn spinach and collards, yum!!
Feeling better about my journey. I havent weighed myself either. I am waiting until tomorrow (1 week raw) to do my weigh-in. Starting to drink more water, especially during and after exercise.
On the way home I bought some pine nuts, pepitas, and sunflower seeds. Decided instead of making the fettucini alfredo dish to make the almost tuna dish. left my kombuch with kelp at the office, so I decided to substitute kelp in the recipe with nutritional yeast, which I have at home. Blended it all together -- OMIGOSH!! It really tastes like tuna salad!!!!!
I quickly took a nori sheet and spread a few tablespoons on, some chopped carrot and zucchini, and some spinach, rolled and cut it --- ooh I was in heaven!! I couldnt believe how good this was!! I left some out for hubby, but he is out of town and wont be back. he is still raving about the portabella mushrooms and thought I made some more)
Drank a few sips of the GT Synergy I bought (guava goddess) and it does indeed taste like champagne a little bit. It is a nice drink to have when you want to unwind, or to settle your stomach a bit.
I did better than I thought - stayed raw for 7 days! I guess I had to let go of the need to feel like I have control over all my actions. I needed to let go and have my body and spirit talk to me for a bit. And the conversation is far from over.
Exercise: 55 minutes on bike - 10miles (woo-hoo!) and 40min Yoga before bed tonite
Blessings,
Rawnaija
