Chuck the scale!

Rate this Entry
Wow, Friday already! This week has flown by. A great raw week. I LOVE MY NEW DEHYDRATOR!! Q and I made flax crackers yesterday and they are so gone already!! We had our friends over for dinner last night and they gobbled them up too! They are sad eaters, so it was really awesome!! They both are very interested in our eating and open to try all that I make... maybe some more converts?? :) It would make me so happy to see more Rawbies! So today I'm dehydrating MORE crackers, apricots, apples and bananas. Can't wait for tomorrow... it smells really yummy!
I finally got on the scale this morning. I have been staying off of it, not wanting to focus on my weight. But my jeans are fitting differently, a bit tighter in the legs and butt!! (I am really working hard to grow a butt!!) But, in spite of my efforts, I weigh EXACTLY the same. Oh well... You know, I wasn't even that disappointed. These past few weeks I've been working on accepting myself as I am, or at least thinking that I should...:) . So what if I'm this size??? I am healthy, that I can FEEL. I am happy, that I feel EVERY DAY. I can see the little muscles in my arms and my butt does feel firmer? :) So that would be progress! I am eating so much food, not binging, just eating when I'm hungry and eating however much I want. So this means more to me than "Junk in my trunk" :) I am rearranging my goals, well really my body is demanding that I do! My goal is shifting to being simply healthy and not having food issues. With that I've made such progress. I've gone from starving/binging to eating (a lot) of totally healthy foods all day.
Just for the record, here is what I ate today...

Green smoothie, 2 bananas, spinach, mung sprouts, hemp powder

1 avo with red onion and Bragg's
4 huge flax/vegie crackers

1 necterine

1 head of romaine with:
2 grapefruits
1 orange
2 scallions
More red onion (love that!)
2 T olive oil
4 prunes
and...

1/2 melon

Nice day! Well, I'm off to watch Monk, I love him! Every one have a great weekend!

We could have a junk-in-the-trunk exchange day!
Those who want it can have it...and I can donate my excess.
Oh, if it would be that easy. (wink)

Sounds like you are really getting a handle on things!

Awesome post, Lis. I'm trying to do the same. I"m trying to divorce my scales! lol. This relationship isn't working! lol But I feel like you, what counts now is focusing on a healthy lifestyle and feeling good.

I know what you mean about getting in that zen space where it becomes so abundantly clear it's all about health. It's a goooooood feelin'! There is no pressure and I agree chuck the scale. I like my junk in the trunk though. I think I'll keep mine. haha. Take care, Crystal.
