I started today off well. Had a banana papaya smoothie with aloe vera, cause my stomach was feeling really fluttery or something. Took three bananas with me and some date nut torte to church, in case I got hungry. Of course, it was chili day, so everyone was standing in line after service for hot soup, chili, and cheese, bread and bagels. I had a few meet and greets, so that kept me busy for a little while. By the time I decided to leave the chili was gone (Yay - no temptation). They did have a large spread of fresh fruit, and I happily picked away at that - pineapples, melons, grapes, yum!!
Went to a college student fellowship. Had my bananas and torte with me, so no problem, right? Well, a sis had to find a cheap way to bring something without breaking the bank, so I did some organic chips and salsa for the group. Didnt eat not one ( i was so proud). However, little did I know it woudl be quite a spread of vegetarian stuff... blackeyed peas, mac & tofu cheese, cornbread, apple pie... I lost it and had some peas and cornbread, along with a little mac and cheese -- it tasted ok, but I was feeling bloated within 30 min after eating it all. I was kinda beating myself up, but I had to let go of the moment and forgive myself. Its Day 3.. Its ok ( at least this is what I had to console myself with)..
so I let everyone know at the fellowship what I was doing (because they want to meet weekly to pray and encourage each other..) and they were very understanding, so I feel better about having raw food next time. I was wondering how I would explain it, but my friend said, "she's only eating living food". and I smiled.
So I got home and had another banana papaya smoothie with aloe, and then I made the marinara in the book and tried out the mandoline slicer. HATED IT(the slicer) and put it back in the box after wiping it down to return it. I think I will save up and buy the spirooli. havent found it anywhere at a decent price, except on amazon... I think there is somewhere local, but dont know where ..
Hubby liked the marinara. I added fresh basil to tweak Alissa recipe. It tasted awesome. I used a miniature processor I bought about 3 years ago from Walmart. Makes a really high-pitched scream when you pulse, but it is less mess, and a nice way to make 1-2 servings at a time.
Since I didnt like the slicer, I used a veggie peeler to slice the zucchini into strips, fetuccini style. spooned some marinara into the bowl with the strips and stirred it. It tasted awesome -- i had hubby taste -- he was wowed by the freshness
so in a nutshell:
banana papaya smoothie
3 bananas
date nut torte (about 3oz)
cooked veggies (BOOO!!!)
banana papaya smoothie
a little spoonful of zucc with marinara
3 nori rolls (half of a full sheet)
Good night - going in early for bed... tomorrow will be an A+ day! I have rolls, marinara, salad and fruits ready. I also am way behind on my exercise, so I need to clock 2 hrs tomorrow to make up for the weekend.
I am really gassy from the cooked food, or did I do bad food combining - lots of burping and stomach bloat. Is there anyway to relieve this? (Other than STAY RAW ALL DAY -- WHICH I KNOW NOW!!)
