Day 5 (change in plans)

Rate this Entry
Hi Everyone. On day 5 and I'm starting to feel better. The detox symptoms are lessening. I started the day with 30 minutes of Yoga and am feeling focused and positive.

Up until this point I have been eating "comfort" Raw foods. You know, things like RP's brownies, Carmel Coconut Cookies, etc. I've also noticed that today my weight has gone back up. I think it's time to get "real" and start eating properly. Like I said in my first post, any diet/way of eating can be abused. I think I needed those comfort foods to help transition but I'm feeling solid enough now that I can move onward into healthier territories. Time to up the green smoothies and increase the salad intake!

Stats from Yesterday (Day 4):

Raw Status: 100%
Starting Weight: 220 lbs
Weight Yesterday: 217.4 lbs
Weight Today: 218.8 lbs
Weight Loss To Date: 1.2 lbs
Starting Body Fat: 31.2%
Body Fat Yesterday: 31.4%
Body Fat Today: 31.9%
Exercise Day 4: none
What I ate Day 4: lemon coconut cookies, RP's brownies w/ choco sauce, baby carrots & creamy garlic dip (super mega extra spicy hot), two green smoothies, choco pudding, one kiwi

Wow! We could be eating twins! I did the vegan/raw/cooked vegetarian/back to raw path too. And like you, the first time I was raw I ate lots (and lots) of high fat/dehydrated foods. This time I'm eating more whole fruits and vegetables, green juices and smoothies. The second time around is going to stick for both of us!

I completely agree with the 'comfort' food thing. For me it has also helped with the transition. Yesterday my friend and I ate a whole date nut torte (took the whole day but still). I promised not to do that again.
Good luck to you! 100% just today. Think about tomorrow, tomorrow.

It's nice to see a sensible approach to raw. Very refreshing. I too, enjoyed the comfort foods in the beginning but now I am very much into simple, real, and wholesome.

Stick around, nice to see a BCer (I grew up in BC - Victoria and Saltspring Island)

I kept gaining weight eating whatever I wanted as long as it was raw, causing me to get frustrated & go back to SAD for a year! Now I am eating mostly fruits & greens and the weight is FLYING off and I feel phenominal! I'm finally getting the results i've always dreamed of! (whoa I had to cut my post down, didn't realise there is a 500 character max!! LOL)
