I am officially getting my first dog...at 39. Although I did have some growing up and that, this will be the first one that is my responsibility, lol. It is a Samoyed...sooooo freaking excited! He will be my walking buddy...and therfore also my personal trainer, lol.
On the raw front I am still maintaining having some raw everyday...thought I still have to focus and try sort of...like it definately doesn't come naturally everyday, but if I can just insist on Some raw and actually plan and make a raw meal, I have NO problem eating it or enjoying it.
Also, I am now counting calories rather consistently...since Wednesday. Myfitnesspal makes it easy as you can save your meals and the phone app. This just keeps me honest and accountable and 'present'. I am past the point of being OCD about calories, so it really just serves its proper purpose without turning me neurotic about it, so I am happy and at peace with it. I do this just because I have a knack for finding ways to gain weight/eat lots of calories on ANY diet I follow...including raw. So I know for me I need to focus on cals. The other thing I'm doing in conjunction with this is applying 'volumetrics' which works perfectly with raw...that is, the volume of food you eat will keep you more satiated so that you can more easily manage to eat less calories as you are doing so on a plenty full stomach.
It is working fantastically! ...the app, once you've put your food in, it tells you how much you'll weigh in 5 weeks if you keep eating like you did that day and I really like that motivation.
Funnily enough, I am not motivated by things I thought would motivate me like the two weddings/family reunions, health, etc. etc. I am motivated by the fact that I just realized that in June I have to go to my own graduation ceremony, have my picture taken, etc...and I just really want to be looking my best for such a moment I worked so hard for. For some reason, this is really important to me and is 'non-negotiable' in my mind. ...finding that non-negotiable motivation is always very motivating, lol.
Cheers, bottoms up to your smoothies and rawk your weekend!!![]()
