Leaving the fasting ranks...

Rate this Entry
I chose to eat today. The week has just been ok for me...I thought I'd enjoy it more, but I've been kinda grumping through it.

I missed my raw creations...bad!!! So, I had a Pizza loaded with veggies and topped with Pineapple! Yummmm!!!!

I think juicing will be incorporated more in my life, but I'm ready to uncook for myself again.

Wishing those still fasting a successful one!!!

    *waves* congrats on your fast!

not sure i'd break it with a pizza though... but it's your fast and your breaking :)

I'm starting to wonder if there has been a grumpy moon this week! Congrats on the fast - did the pizza taste as good or better (or not as good) as you were expecting?

Actually, I didn't break it with the pizza... I did have some fruit first (I forgot to say that....sorry!!!!!!). I didn't wait long after that to have the Pizza, though. Yes, it was fabulous!!!!

I had another Smoothie after that.

Moving over to Smoothies helped me not to feel bad upon breaking, I think. I don't feel like I was in the fasting "mode"...more like feasting maybe.

If I had a better juicer I might have enjoyed the fast more. Having to wash it after every juice is a pain!!! I did enjoy the Tomato Juice, though!!! :)

I'm not really sure what the difference between juice feasting and fasting is. Is it just quantity or something else?

Juice feasting really feeds your body. When someone is deficient in vitamins (especially if they've been eating SAD for a long time) then feasting is a really good idea. Also if someone is sick (cancer or other disease) then feasting is the way to go.

Fasting is for healthy people. :)

    More or less...

Renee was feasting as in green smoothie feasting... totally different thing altogether. Breaking from that is easy... especially when you've only been feasting a short time.

So juice feasting is quantity and variety?
  8. Aleesha Sattva's Avatar
Juice feasting is quantity. Variety really has nothing to do with it. Although I highly recommend that when people are feasting that they do a lot of green juices.

I said variety because you said "feeding". Without variety how does one feed a system?
  10. Aleesha Sattva's Avatar
cantaloupe (for example) has everything you need in it. so add some greens and you are good to go.

but i prefer variety when feeding for disease. all people who juice FEAST are not doing for disease reasons.

I think I prefer the term fasting to mean water only and feasting to mean all juice related fluid.

I thought feasting meant leaving in the pulp as in Smoothies and fasting is removing the pulp from juices or having just water. That's why what I considered what I did as feasting. My smoothies contain 40% Greens and 60% fruit. My system didn't completely shut down as in fasting because there is fiber in the Smoothies.

If I were fasting, I would never break the way that I did...even though I broke with fruit (but it was Pineapple...).

Can you add greens to Cantaloupe juice? Is that tastey?

I think these terms are used randomly by different people. I tend to think smoothies are not juices so I wouldn't call them juice feasts for example. I think I generally don't like the term feast because, as we have discovered here, it leads to confusion!
