Juice Fasting Day 3 Recap: Feeling Nausea

Rate this Entry
Unfortunately, for me day 3 was filled with headaches and nausea. Of course I stuck to the plan and avoided coffee, and additionally I also avoided tea. So I only consumed fresh juices and good old H20.

However, about 2 hours after I consumed my “dinner juice” (wheat grass, strawberry and apple) I threw up. I am wondering if consuming 2 ounces of wheat grass was too much, or if the combination of strawberry and wheat grass was too acidic for my stomach. Regardless I do not think this was related to not having caffeine because if this were the case I would imagined that I would have gotten sick earlier in the day (and also typically I drink caffeine 5 days of the week, so there are 2 days a week where I do not take in caffeine and my body has never reacted this way before to not having it). Regardless, even though I found this really strange and it worried me a bit, at least afterwards my headache was a little more manageable.

Day 3:

20 ounces: of water upon rising

16 ounces: fresh squeezed orange juice

16 ounces: juice of 6 medium tomatoes and a handful of carrots

12 ounces: juice of wheat grass (2 ounces), strawberries (2 ounces) and 8 ounces cold pressed apple juice

32 ounces of H20 mixed with lemon

Total Liquid= 96 ounces just about 3 liters

slow down on the wheatgrass. it's soooooo detoxing (healthy but detoxing)

why not try some herba matte tea while you are transitioning from caffeine in coffee. it can make your transition easier.

Wheat grass can be quite nauseating! I also find that citrus can cause headaches. You are doing well. Your body is going through quite a new experience. The less than pleasant side effects will pass.

Yes I will be slowing down on the wheat grass. But of course I have a large supply of it which will need to be used. Next time I think I will try .5 ounces.

Mystic Tree you say that you try to stay away from citrus? Does this include lemons juice diluted in water?

Thank you Aleesha and Mystic Tree from your Support

I still drink citrus but I don't like to drink too much. It's the only juice I can get locally if we go out. I have 8floz which I dilute a bit with either ice cubes or water. At work I have the juice if maybe 1 or 2 citrus fruits in a 20 floz volume of juice.

Oh wow thanks for the quick response. I asked this same question on the fasting forum because I was not sure if you would check back here and also I thought others might benefit from your answer.

Indeed orange juice is the easiest to find when I go out, especially in the rural region I live in. In December I will be moving to Brazil for half of a year. I am looking forward to getting there because fresh juices are very common and plentiful in public places.

Remember... you can take it on your skin as well! Your hair will love it too.

You can also use the pulp as a facial!!!

So don't worry about not using it. Use it externally as well. Your body absorbs the goodness
